ACTS

The Alliance of Coventry Theatre Societies (ACTS) is a representative organisation which house both youth and adult amateur theatre societies and groups operating within Coventry and Warwickshire.  ACTS was founded by Arran Pallan in June 2020 when he started out on this journey to create a central hub for the amateur theatre community.  We offer a range of services, tailored benefits, support and provide a space to enable collaboration as well as connection with fellow societies, he wider arts community and organisations.

ACTS is steered by its membership and an elected committee.  The membership and committee are supported by the Company Director who oversees the running of the alliance and the Head of Marketing & Communications.  We welcome societies and groups from all backgrounds for a more inclusive and representative alliance contributing to the Coventry and Warwickshire amateur theatre community.  ACTS is actively seeking change, improving and supporting societies in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.  We want to create new strategies and opportunities for the community to develop in all aspects of theatre both on stage and off stage so people can feel empowered to contribute and get involved.

NODA

NODA is the national body that represents amateur theatre. Any amateur theatre society can become a member of NODA. NODA was founded in 1899, “to protect and advance the interests of operatic and dramatic art, and of societies engaged therein”. Our membership continues with over 2,000 society members and over 1,000 individual enthusiasts staging musicals, operas, plays, concerts and pantomimes in venues ranging from the country’s leading professional theatres to village halls.

We support and inspire amateur theatre. Our vision is that amateur theatre is successful and sustainable, providing a range of opportunities for people to develop their skills, and enjoy taking part, at all levels. NODA’s mission is to support the education and information needs of individuals and organisations with high quality services and products that contribute to the success of amateur theatre as well as encouraging appreciation of the sector by participants and audiences alike.
